DACU – Dubuque Area Congregations United

St. Luke’s is a part of Dubuque Area Congregations United (DACU), a diverse local organization united by our belief in God, our concerns for justice and our call to serve others. Please use the DACU webpage to find other congregations in the Dubuque area, their worship schedules, and webpages.

DACU’s mission: We, the members of DACU, people of diverse faiths and beliefs, are united by our belief in God, our concerns for justice and our call to serve others.  Through prayerful dependence on God and respectful cooperation with each other, we will make a difference in our world by fostering an awareness and understanding of human need.  We will be a supportive presence in this community and beyond through the generous sharing of our time, talents and resources.

DDCO – Downtown Dubuque Christian Outreach

St. Luke’s is also a part of the Downtown Dubuque Christian Outreach (DDCO). The DDCO mission statement is: The purpose of the Downtown Dubuque Christian Outreach is to be the presence of Jesus Christ by serving the spiritual and physical needs of those in the heart of Dubuque and by leading and nurturing individuals and our congregations to engage in more intentional and cooperative outreach within the community. Some projects led by DDCO include: the Kiddy Pool Garden Project, neighborhood cleanups, ice cream socials, overnight housing for student service groups, and homeless shelter issues.

Seniors Out and About

This is an enthusiastic group of seniors who love to get together on monthly day trip adventures. Past trips have included traveling to Bluff Lake, Spillville, picnics at Eagle Point Park and the Arboretum, going to plays at the Grand and the Bell Tower Theater, just to name a few.

Other Organizations

St. Luke’s staff, ministry areas, and members are also actively involved in the Dubuque Area Ministerium, Church Women United, and other projects that further good causes, such as our partnerships with Prescott Elementary School, St. Mark Youth Enrichment, the Dubuque Food Pantry, and St. Stephen’s Food Bank.
