David Set Singers Before the Lord

David Set Singers Before the Lord

The most brilliantly colored of all the windows portray David, King of Israel, clad in richly jeweled robes and crown of gold commanding two youthful bards to sing. The lion in the picture symbolizes David’s bravery as a shepherd boy and the harp shows he was a skilled musician. This window in the choir loft was given by Fannie Weigel Tonner as a memorial to the Weigel family who had worshiped in this church for six generations and had been associated with the musical life of the church making the musical theme most appropriate. It was the last Tiffany stained glass window to be installed in the church. The Biblical quotation on the window reads, “Sing Unto the Lord, Sing Psalms Unto Him. Talk Ye of All His Wondrous Works.”
